Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
(Lyons 29. 6. 1900 - in action 31. 6. 1944)

French writer and aviator who disappeared on a reconnaissance flight off the French coast during the Second World War. This commemorative issue celebrates the ideals of solidarity and brotherhood which so informed both the subject´s life and his work.

Saint-Exupéry was one of our century´s major literary figures and the author of the widely translated works: "Southern Mail", "Night Flight", "Wind, Sand and Stars", "Flight to Arras", "The Little Prince", and "The Wisdom of the Sands".
