The "Nature Conservation" series this year features three stamps depicting birds of prey. The rock eagle, peregrine falcon and eagle owl are among Slovakia´s protected species.
The rock eagle is now rarely sighted in Slovakia. Nesting areas have been recorded in the High, Belianske and Low Tatras, in Orava and Pieniny, on the Great and Lesser Fatra and in some other places - a total of around 35 pairs in all.
