In the 1966, 1969 and 1972 was took place third years of Trienale of Naive Art in Bratislava. They were an important events in presentation of the naive painters creations. At present Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava relating to interrupt tradition and renew arranging of these exhibitions, on which presents our domestic and also numerous foreign naive painters.

Naive Art - art growen by authors without expert preparation and artistical training, creation for own delight. The term of naive art was discovered for the first time in theory of fine arts in 1908 in work of G. Apollinaire in Revue des Lettres et des Arts.

The painters with simple, clean and saint heart, painters with sentiment, popular master of reality, simultaneous primitive and neo-primitive, Sunday´s and red-letter painters-these and other notions uses for designation of creations which do not form no poised of artistic direction and do not brings no aesthetical program, have expressive individual character but also undeniable grace and beauty of realistic opinion.

Among the expressive demonstrations of Slovak naive artists belongs Zuzana Viraghová, Jozef Kemko, Jozef Kerák, Juraj Lauko, Ondrej Šteberl, and from the foreign Slovaks Martin Jonáš from the Kovačica and others.
