Miloš Alexander Bazovský (1899 Turany nad Váhom - 1968 Trenčín), national artist, graduate at the Academy of fine arts in Prague (1919 - 1924). He belongs to the most eminent and the most clear-cut personalities of the Slovak plastic arts of the 20th century.

His colour and formal suggestive, balladic-expressive, figural and landic painting stories and secluded places discover main point and spirit of the motive. They also define Slovakian phenomenon. M. A. Bazovský in his own numerous painting and drawings sensitively and cultivately formulates and defines the basis and the meaning of the natural and human being, in a masterful characteristic short and unrepeated emotionality of the colour vision. For many authors, work of the M. A. Bazovský became not only the starting point but also an inspering, admirably overtime and stimulating source material. Its uniqueness approximates and documents a permanent exposition of his work, opened up in M. A. Bazovský's Gallery in Trenčín in 1979.
