This postage stamp, published on the anniversary of the Establishment of the Slovak Republic as a sovereign and democratic state, beautifully illustrates the 41st article of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic, which legally protects marriage, parenthood and family emphasizing the highest moral and social values. The philosophy behind the creation of the stamp, draws from the Preamble of the Constitution of SR and the cultural heritage of our forefathers. The FDC depicts three national symbols - the national flag, national seal and the first two bars of the national hymn. Other motifs used in the composition creatively show the constitutional system of the Slovak Republic, which is formed from the constitutional and legislative powers of the National Council of SR, the executive powers of the president and the government of SR, as well as the judicial powers of the Constitutional Court of SR. The issue is also to remind us of the 10th anniversary of the Constitutional Court, established as an independent judicial authority for the protection of the constitution. The printing sheet with six stamps surrounding a symbolical drawing shows the present and future trend of the state.
